I bought my first DSLR camera in 2014 so that I could take better pictures of my two daughters, Lauren and Claire. I quickly realized that I had a lot to learn about how to use a camera, so I began learning as much as I could about photography and, most importantly, taking pictures constantly. This effort turned into a passion for capturing the incredible scenery of the beautiful Cuchara Valley where we spend our summers and holidays as a family.
I hope that my images will remind you of the breath-taking beauty of Cuchara and Southern Colorado while you are away, or inspire you to visit if you've never been there. Please contact me if you want to know more about any of my pictures.
I don't believe there's such a thing as "truth" in photography...There is only honesty.
I believe that experience is an essential element in landscape photography. Through my photographs I want to convey a sense of the emotion that I felt while experiencing the scene. To that end, I may embellish certain elements in the image to enhance those emotions, but I strive to maintain realism and believability in my images. While digital manipulation and post-processing are part of modern photography, I believe photography should begin with the capture of a photographic image in the field, not in Photoshop.
